B is for Briggle

... as in Van Briggle

Van Briggle Pottery began in 1900 in Colorado Springs, CO,
by Artus and Anne Van Briggle.
Both were accomplished decorators for Rookwood Pottery, OH,
and relocated to Colorado due to Artus' health restrictions.
He suffered from tuberculosis and died in 1904 at the age of 35.
Anne continued to run the Pottery until 1912, lending the pieces
their unique and lovely hues of turquoise, burgundy, and deep blue.
Van Briggle Pottery continues to be one of
the oldest active potteries in the United States.
