The Sistine Chapel is famous for its architecture and exquisite decoration by the greatest Renaissance artists including Raphael, Bernini, Botticelli and Michaelangelo, who painted the 12,00 foot chapel ceiling between 1508-1512. Hi Maria, the blog looks great! The pictures are all so cheery and I especially love the shots of spring.
If you're in the mood to soak up some Renaissance art with a bit of history mixed in you should check out this video about Bernini's life and works from The Power of Art series put on by the BBC. It's a bit lengthy, but Simon Schama's cheeky comments and the magnificent sculpture make it pretty interesting!
